There are three main cloud computing deployment models, which represent the cloud environments that your applications can be deployed in:
Cloud:
•
In
a cloud-based application, all parts are hosted in the cloud, and they are
fully deployed there.
• To
take advantage of the benefits of cloud computing, cloud applications are
either created in the cloud or migrated from an existing infrastructure.
• There
are two types of cloud-based applications: applications built on low-level
infrastructure pieces and applications built on higher-level services that
remove the management, architecting, and scaling requirements from the core
infrastructure.
Hybrid:
• Hybrid
deployments connect cloud-based resources with existing resources that are not
located in the cloud.
• The
most common hybrid deployment method is to combine cloud and on-premises
infrastructure.
•
This
model allows a company to extend and grow its infrastructure into the cloud
while also connecting cloud resources to internal systems.
On-premises or Private cloud.
• Private
clouds are usually deployed on-premises using virtualization and resource
management tools.
• On-premises
deployment does not offer many of the benefits of cloud computing, but it can
provide dedicated resources.
• In most cases, this deployment model is the same as old IT infrastructure, but it might also make use of application management and virtualization technologies.
